Welcome to mindfulness @ work !
With our mindfulness @ work programme we offer a profound approach for counteracting stress, improving wellbeing and cultivating mental strength and resilience. By addressing how rather than what we experience it develops mental skills that allow us to successfully meet all challenges of work and private life.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a mental state of increased focus,
heightened awareness and openness. It receives more and
more attention within Psychology as a means for reducing
stress, improving wellbeing, and the ability to flow with
a given situation, enabling to react with an appropriate
emotional response.
Our bespoke training programmes enable the integration of
mindfulness practices into corporate leadership and the
workplace.
- focused in the reality of the present moment
- enhanced awareness of moment-to-moment experience
- acknowledging without getting caught up in emotional
reactions
- reduced negative affect and improved vitality
- flexibility in coping with a given situation
Benefits of being mindful
Mindfulness @ work provides participants with training in meditation techniques to develop their quality of mindfulness. Participants learn to approach potentially stressful situations mindfully enabling them to choose how to respond instead of reacting automatically.
The ability to notice what is going on as it arises and to pause before we respond is an important skill in coping with potentially stressful demands at work and at home. Mindfulness meditation training has been shown to foster the ability to recognise very quick emotional impulses and provide the inner freedom to respond skillfully - also under demanding circumstances.
The science
A plethora of research has meanwhile shown positive effects of mindfulness training in various patient groups, including patients suffering from chronic pain, cancer, anxiety disorders, depression and the stresses of contexts as diverse as medical school and prison life. In non-clinical populations it has also been shown to induce positive affect and to improve the responsiveness of the immune system.
Scientific studies confirm the effectiveness of mindfulness practices in combating stress and improving mental, social and physical wellbeing. These proven benefits include:
- reduced stress levels
- reduced anxiety
- improved concentration
- improved cognitive flexibility
- improved immune functions
These benefits translate into:
- reduced work absence of employees
- increased work satisfaction
- higher productivity
- more rational decision making
- more thinking outside the box
- more flexible and creative problem solving
- improved communication
Within the corporate environment mindfulness training may
be offered as proactive/preventive approach for improving
the ability of employees to develop or maintain healthy
attitudes and responses to potentially stressful
situations.
Empowering employees to cope with demanding and
potentially stressful situations more effectively will
benefit their health and well-being as well as the company
as a whole.
Our programmes
A typical mindfulness training course will consist of a
series of 90 minute sessions (usually six over a
seven-week period). In addition, participants will be
encouraged to engage in short self-directed activities to
